The Spartans Football Club was formed in 1951 and as part of the 50th anniversary celebrations it decided to revive the original badge. The brief was to create an identity for a football team with ambitions to join the Scottish league.
The Spartans Academy – home of The Spartans FC - has a vision to provide the community of north Edinburgh with a community-inspired, developed and managed facility to help develop the sporting, social and life skills of people of all ages.
StudioLR designed brand identifies for both the Spartans FC and the Academy, along with a programme of signage and wayfinding throughout the campus.
The community is united under one badge and the stadium is seen as an exemplar of community sport, having already hosted teams including Manchester United, Scotland Ladies football and Scottish rugby as well as being awarded the 2012 Inspire Mark, presented by Olympic champion and world triple jump record holder Jonathan Edwards.
