Battleby estate extends to 35 acres and includes formal gardens, a network of paths, grassland and woodland as well as small buildings and car parks. All staff and visitors to events, training and conferences are encouraged to make use of the outdoor spaces.
We were briefed to design and install signage and wayfinding outside and inside the buildings, as well as an interpretation ‘hub’ to help orientate visitors and make them feel welcome to wander round the grounds.
With careful consideration of colour, texture, local materials, clarity of typography and information, we delivered a suite of signs to direct visitors and staff simply without interfering with the natural beauty and integrity of the estate. We specified durable materials suitable for varying climates, ensuring minimal adverse impact on the environment.
